Give 5 to Camp Challenge: Update

Make new friends but keep the old; one is silver and the other gold.

Remember singing this song at 4-H Camp?

The Cascade Lake 4-H Camp is excited to say, we have made new friends the last 4 years of our Give 5 to Camp Challenge. Thank you to all the clubs that participated and we hope the members of their clubs that received a scholarship made many new friends while attending one of the 4-H Adventure Camps. This is the final year of the Challenge as we are celebrating our 50th Anniversary this summer. We appreciate your support the last four years in getting ready for the 50th Anniversary of the facility. But don’t stop yet, we’ll still be awarding scholarships for this year.

To get District II 4-H clubs involved, we announced four years ago a challenge to see which club could reach the most of the 5 goals of the ‘Give 5 to Camp’. The club accomplishing the most will be awarded 2 full scholarships for 4-Hers in their club to attend a 2015 4-H Adventure Camp of their choice. All participating clubs will be put in a drawing for an additional camp scholarship. You don’t have to have been involved previous years to participate this year…but thanks if your club did!

GIVE 5 TO CAMP
1. This year is the 50th Anniversary of Cascade Lake 4-H Camp
2. Tell 5 youth about attending 4-H Adventure Camps
3. Let 5 people know about the camp & how they can support camp
4. Bring 5 volunteers with you to a Camp Work Weekend
5. Send $5 ($50, $500, $5000…any multiple of 5) this year to the camp to help make improvements.

Help Cascade Lake 4-H Camp celebrate 50 years of camping adventures with memories of s’mores over the campfire, swims and canoe rides on the lake, fun crafts, wishboats and making new friends.

The challenge starts March 1 and all involvement and donations must be received by the Cascade Lake 4-H Camp, 217 W Georgia Suite 100, Nampa, ID 83686 by June 6, 2015.

We want to see how you’ve changed. We’d also love to hear your stories. Email contact@cascadelake4hcamp.com or post on Facebook.

John & Orah Brandt Foundation Grant

In November, the Cascade Lake 4-H Camp received a $3000 award from the Brandt Foundation. This money will be used to help with the continuation of handicap accessible paths at the Camp. Thank you to the Brandt Foundation for their continued support of Camp Board projects to improve and maintain the camp for all the future campers.
